LPMA Grants

LPMA Grants

LWPT is the successor to LPMA and is able to distribute funds which are restricted for LPMA purposes through a grant scheme.

As the income for these funds is unpredictable year on year, the majority being received through legacies, the funds which are received in any one year are available for grants in the subsequent year.  This means that we will publish the total amount available each year and also closing dates for receipt of applications.

Each year up to £30,000 is available for grant awards.  Up to £20,000 of this is designated for organisations with a grant limit of £5,000 per organisation. Up to £10,000 is available for grants to individuals with a maximum of £1,000 per grant.

For further information for grant criteria, please follow the link below and then if you or your organisation fits the criteria, you may use the appropriate application form and return via email or by post to Wendy Morris, Office Manager at:

Grants are awarded twice a year, but an applicant can only apply once within each financial year (1 September to 31 August). Meetings usually take place in June and November for grants to then be awarded in August and January. Please note: closing dates for applications are 3 May and 3 October.

If your application is successful, timescales for releasing funds are dependent on the turnaround of the Trust receiving supporting references from your referees.

The total annual grant fund is £30,000, allocated as follows:

• Up to £20,000 is designated for organisations, with a maximum grant of £5,000 per organisation.

• Up to £10,000 is available for individuals, with a maximum grant of £1,000 per person.

Grant amounts are determined based on financial need, course costs, and available funding. While full tuition costs may not be covered, we aim to provide meaningful financial support to help reduce expenses.

LPMA grants may be used to contribute towards:

• Course or conference fees
• Training materials
• Grants cannot be used for accommodation, meals, or general living expenses.

The organisation or training provider must be recognised by LWPT as offering relevant and valuable training or experience. Each application is assessed on its merits, and further information on suitable training providers is available from LWPT.
