He is a commissioner of the Equality and Human Rights Commission and Vice President of Barnardos. Previously International Director of Micah Challenge and Director of the Evangelical Alliance, he is also a freelance broadcaster with the BBC, the author of several books, and an international speaker on a wide range of areas including current affairs, religious freedom, biblical teaching, issues of justice and leadership, and a faith based response to human rights.
JS By any measure, Joel Edwards is an impressive man, and I have to confess I answered his ring at the door on a blustery late afternoon in February with some trepidation. I had spent the previous couple of hours researching this person I had glibly invited to tea, feeling more and more intimidated with each accolade, title and accomplishment I dug up. However, by the time the kettle had boiled and we were settled by the fire with our steaming mugs, I was at ease and Joel had swung into story-telling model.
