Felicitas Coulibaly was born in Germany and raised in Germany, France and the Ivory Coast, to a German mum and Ivorian dad. She has also lived in the US. Today she is based in the UK, working in Fintech as a Business Development Director. She considers herself a true citizen of the world. Felicitas loves Jesus, her church (KXC, Kings Cross Church in London) and her family more than anything. She is part of the leadership team for Honoured Singles, a movement for single Christians. On 2 June 2020 she posted a widely viewed video on their Instagram account (@honoured_singles) about the global Black Lives Matter protests following the death of George Floyd and her own experiences of racism.
Sl What made you feel it was important to share something from the Honoured Singles platform? What was happening in your heart and mind as you sat down to record that video?
FC A few things came together. Everything was escalating worldwide at that point and people were taking to the streets. I was feeling emotional about it all, and I felt the response from the church in the UK had been very little.
With Honoured Singles we’re trying to reach people in an area where the church doesn’t respond well, which is singleness. There are a few of us in the leadership team with a black background and I felt we would be doing our community an injustice if we didn’t call it out.
