Hardship Grants

Hardship Grants

Hardship grants are available to assist Preachers, Leaders of Worship and their families, with immediate financial need.

Assistance is focused on helping those in ministry return to ministry if the hardship is keeping them from performing their duties in local UK church ministry.

The circumstances in which grants may be awarded are varied, and therefore there is no definitive list of situations which demonstrate immediate financial need. All applications will be considered by the trustees on a case-by-case basis so as to enable us to offer support to people in need in a broad range of situations.

You can download the application form for a hardship grant below.

FAQs

Our hardship grants are available to preachers, leaders of worship and their families who are facing immediate financial difficulty. We recognise that financial hardship can arise from a wide range of circumstances, so each application is assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Assistance is focused on helping those in ministry return to ministry if the hardship is keeping them from performing their duties in local UK church ministry.

There is no definitive list of qualifying situations, as we consider each application individually. We consider situations that might hold the individual back from completing their role as a church leader to the best of their ability. However, we may provide financial assistance for those facing:

• Sudden financial burdens, such as medical expenses or essential home repairs.

• Other significant hardships affecting preachers, worship leaders, or their dependents.

If you are unsure whether your situation qualifies, we encourage you to apply and provide details for consideration.

To apply for a hardship grant, please:

• Download the application forms above.
• Complete the application form
• Provide supporting information detailing your financial need.
• Submit your application for review by the trustees.

Each application is carefully assessed, and we aim to offer support to those in genuine need as quickly as possible.

Once we receive your completed application, our trustees will review it on a case-by-case basis. The timeframe for a decision may vary, but we strive to process applications as quickly as possible.
