I am a student with The Light College and am excited to have completed my second year with the help of LWPT. I am thoroughly enjoying my learning journey and the opportunity to explore the depths of theology, missions and evangelism, whilst meeting some great people along the way.

Who would have thought God would lead me to become a part-time undergraduate and open such an amazing door? Let me explain why I am so bowled over and filled with gratitude. I became a carer to my husband 7 months into our marriage. Our dream to pursue ministry together had drastically changed following a major stroke, triggering the onset of complex health issues and dementia. Our journey has been extremely
challenging and difficult, and as I write, he has deteriorated, becoming permanently bedbound and unable to do anything for himself. The pressure is extraordinary and it is easy to become lost in the caring role and to feel self-worth slipping away.

I felt I needed to do something for myself and my well-being and chose to study theology, holding onto my husband’s and my motto to “keep moving forward”.
The online course has worked well for me, enabling me to continue my caring role at home, whilst ironically, the in-person lecture blocks provided respite and spiritual nurturing. The college has been incredibly supportive and instrumental in my drive to succeed.

However, it is Victory Church (Rugeley) of the apostolic Victory Churches International under Drs George and Hazel Hill that I owe the most gratitude towards. For some reason they insist on giving me the mic! I love sharing my journey of understanding the scriptures with my church and together seeing the word come to life. I sense a sermon brewing on the ‘Goodness of God’.Thank you LWPT for blessing me and opening the door to study with The Light College.
