How I prepare by Victoria Lawrence

These words, daunting though they may appear, are included as part of the online course (Worship: Leading and Preaching) in my training to become a Local Preacher within the Methodist Church. They act as a powerful reminder that every time I preach it is a ‘marvellous opportunity’ to demonstrate the wonder of Christ revealed in his Word which calls and challenges each one of us to into action.
I am employed as a children and youth worker at Tonbridge Methodist Church; due to the nature of my role, many of my leading and preaching opportunities occur in the context of all-age and café worship services. Therefore I shall be journaling my process of preparing a sermon within this setting.
